ETX® modules with particular low power consumption
conga-E855 is based on Intel® 855GME chipset featuring low power Intel processors
Deggendorf, November 8, 2007 – The ETX® module conga-E855 and its very low power product variants are available from stock. The congatec embedded BIOS efficiently takes advantage of all power saving features of the used Intel processors in order to avoid unnecessary high power dissipation and heating.
The embedded computer module conga-E855 features the Intel 855GME chipset and can be equipped with Intel processors from 600 MHz up to 1.6 GHz. Special focus is pointed towards the cost- and power efficient models using Intel Celeron M 373 (1 GHz), Intel Pentium M 1.1 GHz and Intel Pentium M 1.4 GHz. The congatec BIOS is optimized for the processor dependent power saving modes and utilizes that features in a very effective way.
All congatec boards are equipped with a board controller, which controls certain aspects of the congatec embedded BIOS. Its ability to isolate itself from the main x86 processor enhances embedded features such as system monitoring, watchdog timer, and I²C bus. These features are also available while in standby mode.
Applications that do not use the ISA bus can use the ETX® compatible XTX™ module conga-X855. This module is based on the same chipset and CPUs but instead of the ISA bus it features additional USB ports, Serial ATA, LPC bus, digital audio, fan control, ACPI 2.0 power management and ACPI battery support.
