Most cost efficient RoHS compliant ETX Module

conga-ELX is the ideal replacement for existing Geode-GX1 designs.

Deggendorf, June 27, 2006 - congatec announces the availability of the conga-ELX, a low power consuming and economically priced ETX® module. This RoHS compliant Computer-On-Module is highly suitable as a direct replacement for all applications utilizing the ISA bus.

Effective immediately, only RoHS compliant components are permitted for most field applications. As of now, commonly used ETX® modules that are based on the Geode GX1 processor can only be utilized in a few exemption claused implementations. This makes congatec's new conga-ELX module an ideal RoHS compliant drop-in replacement.
The conga-ELX is equipped with the low power consuming AMD Geode® LX800 @ 500 Mhz, which is perfectly suited for all types of mobile and fan less applications.
conga-ELX also features an integrated graphic controller and supports EPI (Embedded Panel Interface) for automatic detection of almost any flat panel display. The video output can be routed to LVDS, digital TTL or analogue VGA as well as optional TV-Out.
The onboard CompactFlash socket allows the use of cost effective CF cards as a reliable mass storage device.
All congatec boards are equipped with a board controller, which controls certain aspects of the congatec embedded BIOS. It's ability to isolate itself from the main x86 processor enhances embedded features such as system monitoring, watchdog timer, and I²C bus. These features are also available while in standby mode.
Applications that do not use the ISA bus can use the ETX® compatible XTX™ module conga-XLX. It's based on the same CPU but instead of the ISA bus it features Suspend to RAM, additional USB ports, Serial ATA, LPC bus, digital audio, fan control, ACPI 2.0 Power management and ACPI battery support.
