COM Express Modules enter a new performance class

conga-B945: High Performance COM Express Module with Intel Core Duo Technology and Dual Channel Memory Support

Deggendorf, November 14th, 2006 – congatec AG extends its COM Express product family with the high performance module conga-B945. It features the latest Intel Core Duo Processors up to 2x 2 GHz and 2 MByte L2 Cache. Compared to others the conga-B945 supports Dual Memory Channels for even higher performance and memory size. PCI Express, Serial ATA and Gigabit Ethernet multiplies the over all system performance.

The conga-B945 is equipped with Intel's latest 65 nm Core™ Duo processors up to T2500 2.0 GHz with 2 MByte cache and 667 MHz frontside bus. It's based on the Intel® 82945GM chipset.
Five PCI Express lanes, PCI Express Graphic (PEGx16), eight USB 2.0 ports, two Serial ATA interfaces and signals for two ExpressCards allow for fast system extensions. Fan control, LPC bus for slow speed extensions and HDA, a high performance digital audio interface, complete this full feature set.
When utilizing the PEG 1x16, the conga-B945 can drive extremely fast external graphic controllers. The 16 PCI Express Lanes of the PEG interface allow for a maximum data transmission of 40 GBit/s.
The dual memory channels can support up to 4 GByte of 667 MHz DDR2 SODIMM memory. Dual channel memory is 10 to 15% faster than a comparable single channel configuration.
Intel's Graphics Media Accelerator 950, which is a chipset integrated graphics controller, allows for more than 10 GB/s bandwidth to a maximum of 224 MByte video memory allocation. Both independent graphic pipelines can use either 2x24 Bit LVDS, SDVO, TV-Out or analog VGA. The conga-B945 implements the new EPI (Embedded Panel Interface) standard allowing for automatic recognition of the attached flat panel display.
Despite the highest performance capabilities of the conga-B945, it's still very suitable for all mobile and fanless applications when using the Low Voltage Intel Core Duo L2400 processor or the Ultra Low Voltage Intel Celeron M 423 processor. Battery support and ACPI 2.0 compliant enhanced power management features enable the conga‑B945 to meet the needs of the ever demanding mobile computing market.
