congatec announces a new performance class for COM Express Modules
conga-BM45: congatec's new COM Express modules utilizes the 45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9400 with 6 MByte cache and up to 8 Gbyte DDR3 memory
Deggendorf, July 15th, 2008 – congatec AG extends its COM Express product family with the highest performance module conga-BM45. It features the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9400 with a core speed of 2.53 GHz, with 6 MByte L2 cache and up to 8 GByte fast and power saving DDR3 memory. The conga-BM45 utilizes the powerful Mobile Intel® GM45 Express chipset with integrated Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD (Intel® GMA 4500MHD).
The conga-BM45 is equipped with Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T9400 which operates at 2.53 GHz and utilizes 6 MByte L2 cache and a front side bus at 1066 MHz. The module can be equipped with max. 8 GByte DDR3 dual channel memory. When comparing with DDR2 memory, the power consumption of DDR3 is ~20% lower.
Intel® GMA 4500MHD, which is chipset integrated graphics controller, does support DirectX10 and hardware decoding for HDTV video streams. In order to reduce power consumption the clock speed and the voltage supply is adapted to the software utilization of the graphics controller.
Depending on the software application the graphics performance of the conga-BM45 can be up to three times faster compared to the same application running on a Mobile Intel® GME965 Express chipset-based platform.
The conga-BM45 has an unmatched graphics output flexibility. Both independent graphic pipelines can use either 2x24 Bit LVDS, SDVO, TV-Out, analog VGA or the new interfaces DisplayPort and HDMI. The conga-BM45 implements the new VESA standard DisplayID and EPI (Embedded Panel Interface) in parallel allowing for automatic recognition of the attached flat panel display.
Five PCI Express lanes, PCI Express Graphic (PEGx16), eight USB 2.0 ports, four SATA-2 interfaces and signals for two ExpressCards allow for fast system extensions. Fan control, LPC bus for slow speed extensions and HDA, a high performance digital audio interface, complete this full feature set.
Consistent low power design and ACPI 3.0 compliant enhanced power management with battery support features enable the conga-BM45 to meet the needs of the ever demanding mobile computing market.
The integrated gigabit Ethernet controller is equipped with Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT) 4.0. This enables remote control and management of embedded computer solutions.
The conga-BM45 is available for mass production in Q4 2008. First engineering samples are available now.
